Why is there an additional $5.00 on my tax bill? Some residents will notice an additional $5.00 POWTS (Private On-site Wastewater Treatment System) fee added to their tax bill. Oneida County added the $5.00 fee to help cover their cost of administering the POWTS permitting and inspections. Oneida County's Resolution 39-2021 regarding this yearly maintenance program fee can be found HERE.
